For those that don’t know, CodeCanyon is a marketplace by Envato that specializes in a wide variety of WordPress plugins, PHP scripts, CSS codes and just about anything related to web development.
So then, you ask what does this mean for your blogging. Well, CodeCanyon has many great items that greatly improve the flexibility and use of your blog – many of them can be used in place of expensive plugins offered by marketers.
Here are twenty things I found useful and worth of purchase on CodeCanyon for bloggers …

CodeCanyon has a massive amount of useful blogging plugins, codes and scripts but I merely touched the tip of the iceberg in this post. There are still thousands more to discover for your site.
A lot of them are meant for developers but there plenty of WP plugins which are very simple to use, add a ton of flexibility to your blog and save you quite a bit of money compared to the “big name” plugins that are out there at this moment.
Take a look through at some of the items I’ve mentioned and see if your WordPress blog could benefit from one of these items.

Murray, this was really awesome man. I was blown away reading this at just how many plugins I don’t have, and as might site changes, this is going to be dang important…thus I’ve bookmarked the post.
Thanks for the huge value brother!
Marcus
No problem man, I’ve been wanting to do a list like this because it shows off a ton of great things that aren’t just a part of the marketing channels that we all here of.
A lot of developers have excellent ideas that we don’t see in a lot of the plugins which are recommended for blogging – you can see that there are a lot there that facilitate much of what we need without that expensive price tag. Hell, there’s a popup domination style plugin for about $15 on CodeCanyon at the moment instead of like $60. There membership plugins for about $20 instead of $200. Lots of great stuff for the picking
Damn man, these really look good.
I did not know there were so many of these out there. Like Marcus I bookmarked this post for future reference when I want to do a design change.
CSS is getting into the area where I have lack of technical skills, though. (showing my core stupidity rules…like yesterdays post)
I understand (in general) what CSS but I have always used the themes and paid people to make what I wanted -above and beyond- to happen get done.
I am sure I am not along in this ignorance. Using custom CSS like some of these is probably an “intermediate” level thing for your average blogger.
Perhaps some guides (either video or graphics) showing how to install jquery and css and snazz up a site would be helpful to quite a few of us. At least if the steps ARE more difficult than installing your average plugin. Just an idea.
That’s an awesome suggestion Steve.
I actually know a lot around the backend of WordPress – I’m no expert but I’ve built my own themes in the past and have done quite a few sites in HTML/CSS – there’s not a whole lot of difference besides the PHP loops WP uses. The design side, I’m a little rusty but I could see where there could be some great value in showing off these type of things if it means that you (and others) wouldn’t need to outsource the tasks.
In terms of these plugins, the $3 for some awesome table is perfect because just doing it on your own is going to take you a few hours – that’s why I love resources like this even when I know how to make them.
There’s one that I’m eyeballing right now, http://codecanyon.net/item/dynamic-step-process-panels-for-wordpress/125748?ref=Murlu, which would be PERFECT for tutorial websites because it’s a very logical, step process – and it uses short codes
Anyway, thanks for swinging by. Wasn’t sure if this post was going to go over all that well but it certainly isn’t the case – I’ll have to do something like this more often!
Great list Murray, I love Envato and Code Canyon too!
Envato is probably one of my greatest inspirations. All of their sites are top notch and their business model is incredible because they do just about everything – the right way. I model a lot of what I do after them to be honest. It’s gonna take some time but I hope I can bring their kind of quality to my blog one day
Like the rest of em’, I really appreciate seeing whats out there. May need to use some of these soon
Lova ya man, where you been?
They’re pretty awesome man, I’ve been using the Envato marketplaces for quite some time now and it’s always quality work because it’s stuff crafted by designers and developers rather than outsourced, ya know?
I’ve been here and there. Went to Japan and Thailand for some time. Took extra time off to hang with the girlfriend and now considering going up to Canada for a few weeks. Mostly just been working on stuff outside of Murlu
Thanks mate – this is one post I can actually chew on!
Sick of the lack of tangible content online now!?!
Bring it Muzzah
Murray, aloha. Thx so much for this great list of plugins. As I am in the process of developing some new sites, I see immediate application for some. Murray, this post will be living on my computer for easy reference. Thanks so much.
Best wishes for a terrific week ahead. Until next time, aloha. Janet
Thanks Janet
Excellent collection, Codecanyon has a huge collection of wordpress resources.
Thanks for posting
