The PLR Training Course: Traffic … the PLR Way [Part 6]

This course on private label rights originally came from my email newsletter for PLRArticlesNow.com - I thought you would get a kick out of it and learn some great techniques for content marketing and making the most of PLR.

What’s the most important element of a successful online project? Well, besides killer content?

It’s traffic.

Throw out all of your marketing messages, time invested toward crafting the perfect headline, product development and everything else that you put into your work – without traffic, you’re a goner.

Traffic is the life-blood of your online project. It’s people coming to your work, sharing it and engaging it which makes or breaks you in the world of the net.

But don’t let this scary thought get to you because this entire post will take you through the process of maximizing your PLR content into server melting traffic sources. That is, if you’re up to the challenge…

Not All Traffic is Equal

Before we can get into the meat of the email, I want to explain something that nearly everyone gets wrong; the different between targeted and general web traffic.

  • General web traffic may be any visitor that could be doing basic research before they bounce from your site and off to another to make their final purchase or interaction.
  • Targeted web traffic, on the other hand, is the exact type of person you want to drive to your site. Targeted web users are likely to take action in such ways as purchasing a product, subscribing to a service or sharing your site.

It’s easy to overlap the two because you’ve been told time and time again that you need massive amounts of traffic; this isn’t necessarily true. What you need is a massive amount of targeted traffic.

Which would you rather have?

  • 10,000 visitors that look at your content and then leave
  • 1,000 visitors that visit your site and participate (buy, subscribe, etc)

I think we both know the answer to this question. So let’s now get into how you can build targeted traffic with just a few changes to your PLR content.

How to Drive Targeted Traffic with PLR Content

Since we understand the difference between the two types of traffic, let’s dig into the actual process and methods you can take to flip PLR content into incredible traffic sources…

  • Highly-Valuable Niche Content – We’ve discussed in an earlier posts that content is the reason people use the web. Without content, you’re either going to be spending your funds on paid advertising or you simply won’t get any at all. Traffic and content go hand in hand but it needs to be highly valuable content. Use the PLR content you’ve purchased to answer a specific need within your niche community. Cover a topic so thoroughly that people can’t help but share your content with others. Become the definitive source for everything related to the specific topic because this is what keeps you on the radar of your niche, places you higher in search engines, build backlinks and creates a following behind your brand.
  • “Buyer” Focused Marketing Material – Everything you do doesn’t need to revolve around the “search engine game”; don’t forget that traditional marketing methods can still be effective when they are combined with online methods. Use your PLR content to create brochures and helpful reports which you could pass out to local workshops or present to leads. Set yourself a part by providing valuable information that your competitors lack in; show your commitment to your market and they will reward you with their participation.
  • Incentives for Participation – Speaking of participation, use PLR content to create reports and other forms of incentives for those that stick with your projects. On occasion, release something completely unexpected but highly valuable to your community. Repurpose your PLR content into items such as ebooks or white papers related to your industry; your competitors most likely aren’t doing this so get the edge – get in front of your market.
  • Lead Generation Funnels – Use PLR content as lead generation funnels in ways such as completely new marketing campaigns, niche websites or as part of a larger campaign through various websites. Craft your PLR content to include a specific call-to-action so when a reader completes the body of content they will be more inclined to click through for additional information. Use emotional triggers when you mod your PLR content to get people excited with what you have to offer; close the sale when people land on your page – boom!

In previous posts, I detailed a few other specific ways which you could use your PLR for content creation and link building. Combining the information from previous emails with the advanced, targeted traffic generation techniques of this one will create an incredible, never-ending source of traffic.

Use this opportunity to create a great habit of maximizing your PLR content in every way possible that will benefit your online project. Remember, there are always multiple ways to get the most out of your purchase; a little bit of work can quickly result in massive action on part of your community.

So here we are, a little over half way done with this course. I hope you’ve thoroughly enjoyed it to this point but I still have two more that I believe will blow your socks off. Get ready because I’m about to raise the bar with what you’ve previously heard about maximizing PLR content – I’m going to tell you how to sell with PLR.

P.S. Remember that not all traffic is equal. Aim for traffic that will take action. Focus on driving your ideal avatar to your project. Continue your momentum through content marketing and expand your traffic sources as you progress.
