This course on private label rights originally came from my email newsletter for PLRArticlesNow.com - I thought you would get a kick out of it and learn some great techniques for content marketing and making the most of PLR.
What makes people buy?
Let me paint you a surprising picture before you answer this question.
Johnny wants to purchase a new pair of shoes. Instead of driving down to a local shoe store he decides to jump online to browse the countless options readily available online. Before long, Johnny begins asking his friends and networks what type of shoes they prefer; he even goes to blogs, websites and forums to see what others are saying about his favorite brand. After spending some time, Johnny purchases his new pair of shoes based on a recommendation he read on a website he trusts.
The world of commerce is changing. We no longer buy based on a single marketing message; nearly everyone one of us has a connection to the net and we use this for research. It’s the age of social commerce. A recommendation from a complete stranger can have a profound impact on our buying habits because we have long since rejected the advertising message pushed at us from major companies.
Why Content + Commerce is a Match Made in Heaven
If you were to rewind 30 years ago your buying habits would most likely be completely influenced from what you heard on the radio or television. Today, buyers have become tech-savvy; their purchases are almost completely dictated from information they find through the web. We, as a society, have returned to word-of-mouth marketing as one of our primary motivations to complete a purchase.
What does this mean for you? In short, you have the power to guide people toward buying.
A small, niche website you operate dedicated to imported Mongolian slippers has more power to drive sales than the seemingly infinite budget of a ‘big box’ retailer. You get to run circles around the competition. You get to create sustainable streams of income through the content you create for the web.
How to Craft PLR Content into a Sales Machine
A few posts ago I entertained you on the idea that content acts like a salesperson that works for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Remember that? At the time, you may not have picked up on it but this is where it really gets interesting: the following will teach you how to create a virtual selling machine that will remain active for the rest of your life.
- Craft PLR into “Buyer” Focused Content – The PLR content offered on PLRArticlesNow.com has been crafted to share valuable information about a specific topic but you can make just a few modifications to turn this informative article into a “buyer” ready piece by focusing on keyword triggers that put people into the “buying mood” such as “review”, “buy”, “purchase” and “offer”. Combine a PLR piece with an affiliate offer covering the same topic and you have instantly created a logical bridge for the reader to click through to learn more.
- Reinforce Reviews through PLR – Have experience with a product or service? Write a review about it! People love to read reviews because it cuts through the perceived BS of most marketing messages. You can add further value to your post by including valuable information by integrating sections of a PLR article where you deem applicable to reinforce your own thoughts!
- Drive Targeted Leads to your Offer – Use PLR content to create multiple traffic sources across the web pointing back to an offer on your own site. Syndicate your content by sharing it on multiple platforms such as article directories, Web 2.0 platforms, guest posting, social bookmarking and more. The PLR content can be used to excite a user to learn more where as the offer on your site closes the deal.
- Capture Top Search Placement – Publish PLR content to the items mentioned just above as a way to build backlinks to your web pages. Higher rankings will result in higher traffic (along with sustainable placement in search engines). As long as your website stays online you will be able to spur up sales around the offer you display.
- Rapidly Launch Business Focused Sites – Find a hot, new product being released in your niche; use PLR content to create a highly focused niche website that funnels people through the basics and leads them toward the advanced topics covered only through a product! Likewise, use the same strategy for your own launches so you can take full advantage of two (or more) platforms than your single site.
The list, quite literally, can go on and on. Once you fine tune your PLR toward a hungry market you create a funnel for driving sales. The possibilities are endless; you could promote affiliate products, your own, future releases, subscriptions, memberships, continuity programs and much more. Additionally, if you ever feel the need to change your offer – you can do it on the fly.
The posts up to this point, in a lot of ways, further increase the ability for your content to sell. Look back through each of the previous with this new mindset; you will see the power content gives you. The short cut, as you have come too discovered, is through massive action, lower barriers and the head start you can gain through PLR content.
In the next post, I will show you how to take your PLR to the next level. Are you ready?
