I recently joined the website MyLikes as part of a small project that I’ve been doing trying out a few sponsored services, paid to click websites and all around testing grounds for possible future posts. I have a few words I’d like to share.
What is MyLikes?
So far, from what I’ve seen, MyLikes is a mix between a website which compiles all of the things you like and also can be used as a sponsored tweet service. It’s a really odd combination when you first look at it and I’m still getting used to playing around with the service but so far I’ve earned a few bucks with just a few minutes of testing.
Because the service is really simple, I don’t find myself spending much time with it – maybe logging in for a few minutes, finding a movie I like and throwing it up there.
Likewise, the sponsored section is really cool because you get paid per click – that’s right, if you have a high Twitter or Facebook following you could make a killing.
Starting off, they put me at about $0.38 per click yet the current sponsored listings are more around $0.20.
Even still, if you were to get 10 clicks on a $0.20 tweet that would be $2. Not much each day but multiply that by 30 (one for each day) and boom, that’s $60! Not bad if you ask me.
Anyway, I’m going to continue to fiddle around with the service and report back to you in a few weeks after it picks up.

Hopefully it pans out over time so I can bring you a really awesome post in the future
Testing Su.Pr
I wish I took action as soon as Moon said it in her blog post ‘The Tool that Could Bring You Exposure By the Thousands‘.
I finally jumped over and started checking out su.pr and WOW! What an amazing tool for Tweets. I played around with it for a while just to get an idea of view counts and such – check this out.

Even on regular posts (one’s not really going for viral traffic) they seem to explode with views within seconds. You can refresh the page and it’s already tipping past 20 or 30 views.
I’m going to continue to experiment with using this – it gives you analytics to find your best time to post during the day. This is one tool I would highly recommend since you probably already have a StumbleUpon account anyway.
That’s about it
Feeling a little excited today because I just recently came across these two services – felt like giving you the heads up! Talk to you soon and as always – live that dream!

Murray, thanks for the link love! I certainly like tracking the links with Su.pr. I think it evens out more so over time.
Keep at it

Seems like once you mentioned su.pr it has really taken off amongst the communities, Moon. Really ace work!
MyLikes has been good to me in the past, making a few dollars from the $0.29 CPS opps they have. But I haven’t used it for the past few months because I didn’t think it was worth it in the end. Each time you tweet an #ad, you have to expect some unfollows on Twitter as well, plus maybe only a few clicks – depending on your followers, the #ad and how well you wrote the tweet.
But, do give it a try – it might work very well for you and MyLikes pay every Friday if you have more than $2 in your account, a very reasonable limit.

Hey Klaus,
I think it does have a possibility to be abused by those that are going to spam the hell out of the service – I’m trying to keep it relatively simple and just trying out a few different things with it. Hopefully my own followers don’t become to put off by it – if so, I’m more than welcome to getting a message to stop
Both the services seem interesting. Su.Pr really caught my attention. I am going to check it out.
Thanks for the share Murlu.

I registered with MyLikes though I haven’t quite figured it out yet. I suspect I will agree with Klaus that losing two or three quality tweeps might not be worth a dollar. Still, I also believe one can learn a light touch that does promo right or craft a list that tolerates commercial tweets. I will look into this some more.
I will go check out su.pr now.
Cheers!

Agreed Tammi, after playing around with it since the post went live, I found it to be fairly simple overall and you don’t have to do sponsored likes all the time – works pretty great just for those oddball things you like, almost like a social bookmarking service where you tag your favorite stuff.
There will be a perfect balance but it’ll take listening to your followers to see if it’s off-setting – if it is, probably should drop it.
Hope you enjoy su.pr
Hey Murray,
I started using SU.PR too because of Moon
I actually like it and I will try and use it from now on to promote my articles. I am excited to see how your social experiment works out

Moon really nailed with with culling up su.pr – awesome that you’re using it as well.
So far it seems that nearly everything that goes out will hit 30 some-odd views. More importantly, I really like how it continues to track links so you can later see if it was retweeted – tells you alot about which content goes over well!
All I have to say, Julius, is:
