Doubling My Passive Income Earnings With Bukisa

For a couple hours on the weekend I began to dig around, in my free time, for other websites that have popped up on my radar lately – Bukisa became one of them. You may already know that I have a goal of writing 1,000 articles in 100 days but I took a few hours to explore Bukisa a bit more – you won’t believe the opportunity that just popped up.

What is Bukisa?

Bukisa is a paid-to-write website where you get paid for page views – it’s not entirely a lot but if you write great content (duh) you can start to pull in some big bucks once you have enough content out there.

How can I make money on Bukisa?

Bukisa is interesting because it uses the “Bukisa Index” which fluctuates each month; you get paid via Bukisa Index X 1,000 page views.

For example: If the index was at 4.00 you would be paid $4 each 1,000 page views. Now, imagine if you brought in 10,000 page views = $40. 100,000 page views = $400!

The great thing is that the site is still very young so as it continues to grow, we will earn more money if you decide to join.

My kick-ass plan to double my passive income

Now this is where it gets really, really awesome. After digging through the terms of service of both Helium and Bukisa, I learned that I have complete ownership over my articles – I knew I had it on Helium but I wasn’t sure about Bukisa.

I doubled checked and read reports from other people, guess what?

You can republish Helium articles on Bukisa!

You know what this means? If you’ve been participating in on the 1K Article Challenge or write for other websites that don’t require exclusive rights to your content you can republish it on Bukisa.

I’m currently making about $90 – $120 a month with 330+ articles on Helium. I plan to put all of them on Bukisa as well; what if that all of a sudden doubles!

Here’s the bonus: I can rename my articles so they are more appealing for social media – increase the likelihood they are shared, gain traffic and earn me more money.

So the plan is that I’m going to be republishing all of my current articles over to Bukisa.

Should you join?

Absolutely! I highly recommend you join Bukisa because it’s still very young and as it grows you will earn even more money. Plus, as I said, Bukisa doesn’t take ownership of your articles so you can setup your own digital empire – double up!

One more bonus; Bukisa has a referral system so you can actually earn what your referrals referrals earn, this is BIG!

With that being said…

>> Join Bukisa (referral) <<

Then, go out and invite your own friends and we can keep building this epic referral system that keeps bringing in the passive income!

Final Thoughts

I’m really, really excited about this change in events. I’m still chugging away with writing for Helium but this just changed up the game entirely. If you have articles over there on Helium, join up on Bukisa (please under my referral hehe) and republish – let’s make some serious passive income!

What are your thoughts about my little kick-ass plan?

Btw: If this works out, I have an even bigger announcement coming up that’s going to blow you away.

Wow you have been busy Murray. You obviously love writing as it sound like you need to be a prolific writer to make decent amount with these programs. Look forward to hearing more about how you do with this new venture.

    Hey Murray,

This sounds pretty awesome. The idea that you could increase your income (or double it, perhaps) by simply republishing content you’ve already written, is mind-blowing.

Are you concerned at all with Google not indexing your Bukisa material since it’ll be viewed a “duplicate content?” It’s something you hear about all the time, but I’m not sure I’ve ever seen an example of this “duplicate content penalty.”

Interested in your thoughts on that.

Not so much about the duplicate content because you really do see it literally everywhere online. Any news item or PR release seems to pop up over and over again – it really seems more about if it’s on the same domain or if it were repeated like 1,000 times or something crazy like that.

I think I’m going to put together something in relation to doing a lot of re-purposing content in the coming month or two; should be awesome – no hints just yet though heh.

    Murray,

I often wonder, if quality writers like you wouldn’t make far more by bundling your content into ebooks vs. writing 100′s of articles and making $100-$200/mo passive income? And this is with your content on someone else’s site? (Even though this indirectly sends you traffic and backlinks and ranking from their site too).

Then again, if the content is yours, plan an ebook in advance and write the content as articles initially works as well.

That’s actually been one of the big things on my mind Leon.

Here’s something I’ll admit: I’m actually a bit afraid of creating my own products – I know this sounds really silly because I run the blog (few others) and do all this work but it’s a hurdle I need to overcome in the next few months. I think I could certainly create products out of all the ideas I have in my head – been told a few times as well – I’m trying to get over the mindset of “need to research, need to research, need to research” and just do it already – this is one of my next big steps, ya know?

I think, and I’ve said this once or twice to others in terms of writing online, it’s not so much the money (although I’m happy about it) as it’s more that it finally gave me that kick in the ass to just start doing it. I want to keep at it because it’s really breaking that barrier down (in relation to the first item) so I think I will be getting to that point soon :)

    Haha,

Guess you saw me join since I went to play with it for a second before leaving a comment and I saw you added me as a friend.

It does look like a nice way to double up content. I am not sure how people within the system “find” the content or how well Buskisa itself will rank the articles. But if all we are doing is a light edit. change the title and write an intro it doesn’t seem that bad.

The longests part seems like it would be finding a picture for a thumbnail and sizing it. I put up my first article but my thumbnail was too large…so that means most pics are likely to be too.

As for duplicate content penalty that Eric asked about. NO such thing exists. I just wrote an article about that subject like 30 mins ago

    http://www.helium.com/items/1985664-does-google-penalize-you-for-having-duplicate-content

Here is the quote directly from Googles own blog:

“There’s no such thing as a “duplicate content penalty.” At least, not in the way most people mean when they say that…. Duplicate content on a site is not grounds for action on that site unless it appears that the intent of the duplicate content is to be deceptive and manipulative”

Backlinks may not be counted after first two…but even that is a little questionable…Since backlinks do not matter, the point is moot

Thanks for touching up on this Gene – yeah, saw you jump on there :)

The only problem with Bukisa, overall, is the approval process – but I was reading through the forums and you do gain revenue and visits as soon as you publish – it just doesn’t show up in full results on the site yet.

Just as a few tips – been putting articles over there today – you can only submit 25 articles a day so it’s going to take some time already but just like, each time you write a new Helium article, submit it at the same time or a week or two after so both can be indexed accordingly.

One thing that I’m going to play with on Bukisa as well is doing more multimedia posts since Helium doesn’t support that. Was reading an article by the guy that made round $3k last year on Bukisa – most of his articles are very “Cracked-bait” type where it’s like “7 Most Monstrous Animals Ever” you get my point – pictures and vids go a long away so I think they can go over really well in terms of Digg and StumbleUpon.

Otherwise, it looks like we can really do some awesome things by re-purposing back and forth. Hit me up on Skype sometime (MurrayLunn) and we can kick around some ideas :)

    Hi Murlu,

It’s still unclear how does it pay you. Is it per monthly basis where you get pay based on monthly page views of your pages? The site looks interesting to me, will check it out, mate :)

Sorry if I wasn’t able to explain it Mike, I think I’m just used to the sites already.

Basically, you get paid for page views although there are a few other methods – however, page views are the biggie. Bukisa runs off an index so at the moment it’s at 3.22 which means you’d get paid $3.22 for every 1,000 views – sure, this isn’t a lot when you consider you could make a lot more by running Adsense on your own blog but the beauty is that you can republish your existing content over there so it really becomes “why not?”.

You get extra benefit from your past work plus you can start pulling in your own traffic and help build authority because you’re very active on multiple domains – perfect when you want to deal with freelance clients for your services.

      Hope this helped :)

After reading through Gene’s article it really becomes apparent that you should just get all your content out there, really spread your brand around because not all people are going to swing by your blog.

Just joking. Thanks for the head’s up and hope to make some more money.

Bukisa has an article queue so all of a sudden a huge list went out at once – good thing Gmail condenses all the emails together otherwise it would have been a big clean up job in the ol’ inbox.

Looking forward to report back in once it starts to pick up.

Hi Murray, not being an SEO kind of guy, (a little knowledge is a dangerous thing!) does this have any backlink benefits at all?

Sounds a great idea…330 articles though, you set the benchmark high!

      Hey Matthew,

I’m trying to get final clarification from Bukisa but there is a thread that says you can link to your own site as long as it’s not a direct product page or a landing page which you’re trying to sell. I don’t think they’d get pissy if you were to link over even with advertisements because that’s just the nature of a blog – I’ll try to get final verification because I could use the articles as well to send traffic :)

  10. October 20, 2010 at 1:36 pm #

    Hey Murray,
I didn’t knew about this kind of website, didn’t even heard of site like helium or bukisa, I think mainly because i don’t write articles. But from what I can see I should start :) ).

I bet that for you this are like gold mines, when you like at this sites you have dollar (pounds?) signs for eye.

And writing 1000 articles in 100 days, that is sick :O, I couldn’t write 1 article in 10 days. I hope you have time for something else too!

I wish you good luck and a lot of views for your articles.
It’s cool the make money and promote your website in the meantime!

      Take action Alex :)

I never thought that writing would be one of those things that *click* with me either but after just pushing and pushing, it’s in full process now. Just get that first one out and don’t worry much about the overall quality (just yet), just keep writing, writing writing and you’ll find yourself doing 1 a day, then 2, then 5, then 10. It will take time but just remember that any new piece of content you put on the web becomes like another person working for you to promote your website and authority.

Overall, I wouldn’t really suggest investing a lot of time if you’re just getting started overall with writing because the traffic and revenue you earn will probably be low – it may be discouraging – but, writing sites like these can also be great for those really link-bait content pieces “100 Awesome Pictures Of Cute Kitties!” – it’s fun and can turn out really well even if it takes you a while to put the article together hehe.

Well, I just started porting the content over, I think about 40 or 50 articles have been approved but I don’t think they’ve been indexed just yet – traffic is decent as of now (about 3 days of adding) about 30+ people a day looking at the articles which has translated to about 40cents of revenue haha but it will continue to grow once they’re interlinked, indexed and promoted :) – I’ll have to come back and let everyone know in a month or two how it turned out.

I have been writing for Bukisa for almost two years and only eraned $10 since I stopped writing for several months then went back and wrote many articles so I wrote 100 articles on the site. I have more than one thousand articles in Helium and I am moving then 20 articles a day which I just started a few days ago and i am seeing the fruits little by little. I write for hubpages, helium, factoidz, triond, infobarrel and have two blogs that I can’t update regularly since I also have my regular job. We can perhaps share experiences and help each other. Thanks. I’ll add you in bukisa.

OK, so I couldn’t sleep. Was thinking about the conclusion of the 1k Challenge and decided to take action. :P

Now, I’m really going to check out Bukisa and think about repurposing content to make it work and in turn double, triple my earnings with writing online.

Thus, the porting will be documented as usual just like Helium was. That’s the only way I can work. ;)
