My 3 Favorite Ways To Make Money Online

Earning Money Online

There are many ways to make money online but only 3 are my favorite. I don’t just pick these methods at random, I’ve worked hard at them for years. Don’t let anyone fool you; you can make money online but it does require the effort and passion to do so.

Each person uses a unique way to generate additional income online, some methods work, others don’t. It’s choosing which works best for you that will break you from the rest of the eager crowd. Once you find which methods work best for you, work hard to make your dream into a reality.

These are my 3 favorite methods to make money online.

1. Freelance Writing

When I first began my freelance writing career, I was way over my head. There was simply too much to learn before I got started. Instead of letting hundreds of articles get in my way, I decided to jump head first into writing.

For the last 2 years I’ve been busy freelance writing. Before I began my career, I would spend many hours writing for myself and on forums I frequently visit. I made it my mission to tell a story, be informative and create unique content.

I finally made the plunge, I began writing freelance to whomever needed content. At the time, I was writing about topics I knew well, mostly technology related articles on Freelancer.com – at the time, GetAFreelancer.com.

This proved to be quite the experience taking on dozens of articles in a single batch, I had never worked on so much writing at one time but I didn’t let this deter me. I accepted my jobs and began writing.

The first dozen articles proved quite difficult as I had not found my voice. As I continued, I found my rhythm.

I began at a mere $2 an article but I was happy that I had a start. Now I’m consistently writing for double digits on websites such as ArticleMe. I’m happy that it brings in additional income each month and has helped me improve my blogging.

2. Blogging

At the moment, I run two successful blogs. In the beginning I did not expect for them to take off but years of trial and error has helped me see the potential in each and has guided me to create profitable blogs.

There has been many experiments along the way, some were successful, others failed miserably. For a while, friends and I wrote a blog dedicated to gaming. It garnished success, reaching thousands of visitors each month but we were new to blogging and did not have the insight to take it beyond a simple blog.

Aptly put, the blog died and we learned a valuable lesson – blogging is harder than you think.

Fast forward a year later and I began my first successful blog. With many ups and downs, the blog consistently brings in over 12,000 visitors a month and continues to grow daily. Sure, 12,000 is chump numbers compared to what many people bring in but I find it successful, it’s certainly making me money.

I mostly use a combination of affiliate sales and advertising. The blog currently generates anywhere between $150 – $200 a month. Not bad since it’s all passive income.

3. Online Sales

Many years ago, before I even had access to bank accounts I was selling online. eBay was new to the world and the possibilities were endless.

Back then I would sell toys and video games, I was in a transiting phase from childhood to teenage years. It was time to clear the closet and get rid of the old. I found great success in this, generating a healthy income which many of my friends envied.

Throughout the years I continued to sell items on eBay and Amazon. I’ve found many new ways (which I share throughout the blog) that now nets met between $400 – $600 additional income each month. Combine this with a full time job and I can say I’m living quite comfortably.

Why I’m Telling You This

As a blogging, especially talking about making money online, it’s very important to me to be completely transparent about my income and goals. I want to teach you how you can make money online but I’m not here to sell you snake oil.

The methods I talk about require work. There aren’t ‘get rich quick’ schemes, these don’t work. By sharing with you my experiences, I hope you can learn along the way so you can enjoy life without slaving away at a grueling job.

These are the methods that work best for me. You will find many ways to make money online in this blog. They may not all be for you but if just one works, I’ll know I’ve done my job.

Here’s to your success, cheers.

You can make good income by writing for paid posting sites. For example, Associated Content pays individuals to write about the community they live in. Payment is made per submission and one doesn’t necessarily haveto be a writer. Once you haveregistered as a “Content Producer” you can immediately start submitting content via their online system. Both non-exclusive (you retain the copyright) and exclusive (copyright bought by Associated Content) submissions are accepted.

A few years ago I used to write fairly regularly for Associated Content. The opportunity is certainly there to make a decent amount of money online. Lately AC has seemed to go a little stricter in terms of content; although you create a unique article, from my experience, they’ve started to be picky about what subjects you’re writing about.

One tip I can give to college and high school students is to submit your reports and other papers you’ve worked on over the years. I’m sure you have papers sitting on your hard drive which you’ve only used for class; submitting them to AC is a great way to earn a bit of side income for something you’ve already written that would otherwise go unused.

      Thanks for the comment.

Thank you for your honesty as well.

One of the main reasons why I created Murlu was that I became disgruntled that so many people making money online would hype their methods but never truly got deep into the subjects. Eventually they’d share their methods but at a very high price or years later when they no longer use the techniques.

I wanted to give people a “what’s working now” approach.

That’s excellent to hear of your success. List building is such an amazing way to build your momentum because of the reliability and connection you’re able to make with your subscribers. Search engines can be finicky at times but by keeping a list, you’re able to weather the thick and thin no matter what happens.

My favorite way of making money online is blogging only.

You can also make handsome amount of money by writing paid guest posts. I prepared a list on my blog of sites that pay upto $300 to the guest posts. That’s quick and easy way of making money if you are expert in your field.

Very nice to know. It’s great to see websites and blogs that pay at such a great level compared to others that offer you mere cents compared to them. Quality content deserves accurate payment.

Thanks for sharing and the comment.
